| Harry has served as Executive Director of NAFA for the past twelve years where he has been responsible for organizational development, strategic planning and the creation of partnerships with governments and industry stakeholders, in addition to day-to-day administration of the association.
In this new role in NAFA of Director, Strategic Initiatives, Harry will oversee a number of specific initiatives related to boreal forest management, forest research, capacity and institutional development, and international matters including trade, indigenous peoples’ liaison, and forest policy. Initially, a primary focus will be on boreal forest issues facilitating Harry’s continued involvement as a member of the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Forest Management Network and as a member of the NRTEE’s (National Round Table on the Economy and Environment) Task Force on Boreal Issues. Harry studied Business Management at Bemidji State College in Bemidji, Minnesota, and Public Administration at the graduate level at Carleton University in Ottawa. Harry is a member of the Rainy River Ojibway First Nation situated forty kilometres from Fort Frances in North-western Ontario. | ||

Dr. M.A. (Peggy) Smith is an Assistant Professor in Lakehead University's Faculty of Forestry
and the Forest Environment. She teaches forest policy and legislation, environmental assessment,
contemporary forest issues and Aboriginal peoples and the forest environment. Her research interests and expertise focus on the social impacts of forest management, including Aboriginal peoples' involvement in forest management, community forestry, public participation, northern development and forest certification. She received her Ph.D. in the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Toronto in 2007. She is a Registered Professional Forester who graduated from the Faculty of Forestry at Lakehead University in 1991. She considers herself privileged to be a part of the growing number of people of Aboriginal ancestry (Cree) graduating from Canadian forestry schools. Peggy continues her longstanding affiliation as Senior Advisor with the National Aboriginal Forestry Association whose goal is to increase Aboriginal participation in the forest sector. |

| Janet Pronovost is responsible for the general office management and day to day operations of NAFA. She maintains the NAFA membership database and ensures that members receive regular updates. Janet has worked at NAFA for the past 14 years. She has been the key organizer for NAFA meetings and conferences. Janet is Mohawk from the Kahnawake reserve in Quebec. | ||
