COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

The mandate of Burns Lake Native Development Corporation (BLNDC) is “To identify and develop economic opportunities for the Native Peoples of the Burns Lake region of British Columbia”  BLNDC is a non-profit corporation, which represents the economic interests of the six local First Nations.  Each local First Nation has B.C. forest tenures and several have community forests or woodlot licences.  BLNDC represents: Burns Lake Band (BLB), Cheslatta Carrier Nation (CCN), Lake Babine Nation (LBN), Nee Tahi Buhn Indian Band (NTB), Skin Tyee Nation (STN) and the Wet’suwet’en First Nation (WFN).

KDI (a block plant and finger-joint facility) is a wholly owned subsidiary of BLNDC.  BLNDC is partial owners of Babine Forest Products (BFP) and Decker Lake Forest Products (DLFP).  Burns Lake Native Logging Limited (BLNLL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of BLNDC.  It is also capable of commercial thinning, salvage harvesting of merchantable timber and site preparation with a winged subsoiler.
